Dotty Pine is a large rectangular wrap knitted flat, which uses mainly charted stranded knitting, and feature lettering to create a warm, comforting statement piece with a bold design.
The stitch patterns are inspired by work of the pioneering botanist Nehemiah Grew. In the late 1600s he was one of the first people to record and study the deceptively simple, rhythmic, and organised beauty of plant cells. Dotty Pine is designed to reflect his work and those qualities, echoing his etchings of a Pine branch as seen under his microscope.

I hope that you find it a satisfying knit with a pleasing mix of manual dexterity and flow.

I used West Yorkshire Spinners Fleece Jacob DK. Any DK would work for this pattern, but natural wool suits stranded knitting very well due to its fuzzy quality and tendency for the fibres to mesh into the fabric.
