Materials needed:
Worsted weight yarn in cream, reddish brown and dark brown
2.5 mm crochet hook - or size needed to obtain gauge
Stuffing
Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle

The following stitches are used in this pattern:
Mc - Magic Circle
Sc – single crochet
Inc – increase. Work 2 single crochet into designated stitch to increase by one stitch.
Dec – decrease. Single crochet two together to decrease by one stitch.
Hdc – half double crochet
Dc – double crochet
Trc – treble crochet
Sl st – slip stitch

Gauge:
18 stitches x 26 rows = 4 x 4 inch square swatch. Using the hook that obtains this gauge will yield a giraffe that is approximately 8.5 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide. Every person who crochets naturally works with a different tension, and the hook size and gauge can be adjusted to make your item larger or smaller.
