Double Basketweave Blanket
A beautiful Baby Blanket that is easy and quick to make. Stylish and cozy, this blanket looks really expensive, but costs only a few dollars to make. I’ve called the pattern ‘Double Basket-weave’ because the design is different and gorgeous on both sides. The effect is very textured and three-dimensional - it’s derived from aran knitting which I really love because it reminds me of home!
This is a great knitting pattern for an improving beginner, but also satisfying for an experienced knitter. Once I worked out the design I literally couldn’t stop knitting! Captivating in its simplicity, I should warn you that it may keep you knitting all through the night!
The Double Basket-weave Blanket knits up in no time with no fancy stitches and no shaping involved.
The only stitches involved are Knit and Purl!
Some experience of reading patterns will help, but the terms used are simple and everything is explained beforehand.
To make the Blanket you will need:-
875yds (800mts) of worsted or aran yarn.
1 x pair of US size 7 knitting needles (4.5mm). I used straight, long needles, but you could always use a circular needle and work back and forth in rows if you prefer.
1 x tapestry needle to tidy the ends away.
And that’s it!
