A quick to knit winter knit hat with a double brim that will keep the wearer cozy and warm even on the coldest days.

I have included written instructions and photos for doing the brim with two different methods. One is a simple fold and the other uses a provisional cast on. Don’t let the provisional cast on intimidate you -- it’s really very simple and I provide step by step instructions as well as photos.

The pattern is written with instructions for using either Bulky or Worsted Weight yarn. I also include pattern notes for the two tone toque as well as stripes.

Head Circumference: Toddler - 18 to 20 inches (45.5 to 50 cm)
Child (Adult Small) - 19 to 21 inches (48 to 53 cm)
Woman (Adult Medium) - 21 to 22 inches (53 to 55.5 cm)
Man (Adult Large) - 23 to 24 inches (58.5 to 61 cm)

Skills: knit in the round, knit 2 together. If using provisional cast on - ability to do a single crochet chain

Material: Bulky or Worsted weight yarn, 16 inch circular needle US10 (6mm) or US7 (4.5mm), double pointed needles - same size as circular needle, crochet hook for provisional cast on, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch markers

I hope you enjoy knitting this toque as much as I do. The double brim is now my ‘go to’ when knitting up toques.
