Double Cable Socks for Spinners
by Kate Larson
When spinning for socks, I typically use a worsted draw (without twist between my hands). Whether you are using handcarded rolags, roving, or combed top, spinning with a worsted draw will add structure and strength to the final yarn.
Fiber 4.5 oz of washed Columbia locks (includes extra for small samples).
Yarn 4-ply cabled; 275 yd; 1050 ypp; 12 wpi; DK weight.
Needles U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Gauge 29 sts and 41 rnds = 4” in St st.
Notions Markers; cable needle; tapestry needle.
Finished Size 8.75” foot circumference and 9.5” long from
back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable.
