This is a quick simple hat pattern, it is really two hat patterns but they are so basic that they can be changed up infinitely.

I have been making these for friends and family since high school as quick gifts and found it was a great basic pattern to use in the beginning crochet classes I taught in college at the LYS so I typed it up and now offer it up for anyone that would like to use it.

If you find that the hat is a bit big go down a hook size or do one less increase rows.
