I have a passion for Double Knitting. I love how you can play with the colors and the way each piece is totally reversible. Although front and back look identical they are in fact each other’s opposite.
The past year I released 6 double knitting designs. Although two of them are knit in the round, all of them are rectangular in shape.
I wanted to design a triangular double knitted shawl.

So here it is: Double Florin Shawl.
It has nice I-cord edgings and a generous size with a wingspan of two meters and a height of 65 centimeters. The relatively low height makes it very versatile to wear, keeping your shoulders warm without being bulky.

I used 100 % Merino Fine Superwash yarn. One unicolored and one variegated shade.

Double Florin Shawl
The design of this double knitted shawl can easily be adjusted to any size you want.
Double Florin Shawl was made from Lang Yarns Merino 150 and Lang Yarns Mille Colori Baby, both 100 % Merino Fine wool but can be made from any gradient, variegated yarn or unicolored yarn. Best make a swatch though to be sure you end up with the desired size.

Yarn: Two gorgeous colours/shades of the same thickness of any yarn.
I used
Lang Yarns Merino 150 color 0065 – 5 skeins – 5x150 m = 750 m
Lang Yarns Mille Colori Baby color 0085 – 4 skeins – 4x190 m =760 m
Needles: 3,5 mm – 4 USA – 9 UK
1 cable needle
Gauge: 22 stitches (each side) is 10 cm wide
Pattern repeat: 24 stitches (each side) and 32 rows
Size finished Shawl: 200 x 65 cm
