Double Knit Party Chain
Pattern Notes
This charming, two color, double knit party chain will make your holidays a little merrier. Festoon a mantle, trim a tree or dress up a doorway. Add as few or as many links as you wish. In double knitting there isn’t really a right or wrong side, so we’ll call the side facing you the right side.
An understanding of double knitting is required.
The directions for knitting are in the form of charts.
Each square represents the knit (right side) stitch of each pair. The purl (wrong side) stitches aren’t on the pattern. Work the purl stitches in the opposite color to the knit stitches.
All links are knit in the round, so the right side will always be facing you. Each new link is knit through the last link so there is no seaming or joining after the fact. To join the new link to the last: cast on the correct number of stitches, pass the needle through the previously knitted link. Ensure the stitches aren’t twisted, join the round and begin knitting the first row of the new chart.
Remember to keep an eye on your tension and keep it firm.
