Double Mittens
Pattern is written for handspun.
The mittens have a lining of light worsted weight yarn (12-13 wpi) and an outer shell of worsted weight yarn (9-10 wpi).
From the magazine: “Women’s medium. The pattern has been adjusted to make more fitted mittens. If you want to knit looser fitting mittens, use needles one to two sizes larger than those recommended in the pattern. The lining is 7 and a quarter inches in circumference, and the shell is 9 and a quarter inches in circumference”
Gauge for lining is 5.5 stitches and 8 rows per inch 175 yards
Gauge for shell is 4.5 stitches and 7 rows per inch 180 yards
Recommended that both yarns be 3 ply.
