I wrote and published the pattern for the double petal floral “celebrity” shawl in July of 2004 after seeing pictures of the ones Designed by Cecilia De Bucourt.

I made the pattern unique by including TWO WAYS TO MAKE IT! Top to Bottom, OR, Bottom to Top.

It is amazing how many variations and interpretations of this shawl pattern I have encountered over the past 5 years.

They say imitation is a form of flattery. Cecilia and Jessica must feel very flattered!

In fact Cecilia may well have gotten HER “inspiration” from a remarkably similar delta stitch shawl that appeared in a 1938 English Crochet Book.

So many People, (including myself) got on the band wagon of the floral shawls once Celebrity Jessica Simpson began wearing
those designed by talented Cecilia De Bucourt.

My inspiration to write the pattern was driven by the fact that I COULDN’T FIND THE PATTERN ANYWHERE.

I also wrote and published the Single Petal Floral Shawl in March of 2005 with the same unique OPTIONS of Top to Bottom or Bottom to Top.
