Double Rainbow Cowl
On the last day of our Disney World honeymoon, my husband and I hopped on the monorail at the Magic Kingdom and looked out the window to see a beautiful double rainbow. I snapped a picture of it and it has quickly become of one my favorite photos from the honeymoon - it’s such a happy memory! That happiness inspired me to design this colorful cowl made out of cozy, squishy garter stitch knit on the bias with prismatic rainbow stripes. The garter stitch basis makes this cowl excellent TV knitting, while the twisted slip stitch pattern in the rainbow stripes provides a way to show off that one skein (or even leftovers!) of wildly variegated yarn that you had to have but is now languishing in your stash. The cowl is knit flat to get that fun diagonal slant and then seamed together using Kitchener stitch. The length allows you to either wear the cowl down or to comfortably wrap it twice around your neck. Either style knit in yarn that brings to mind a happy memory of your own will give you a pop of warm color to brighten the gloomy days of winter.
