The Double Take Beanie is a fitted hat with a squishy feel that begs you to take a second look. This is a fisherman’s rib pattern, not brioche. Two colors are used to create an eye-popping contrast as well as a nice, thick fabric. This beanie can be knit without a brim or with a cuffed brim that definitely has a wow factor--the brim shows off the color peeking out between ribs in the main body of the beanie. It’s such a fun hat, and the color combinations that can be created with this pattern are seemingly endless!

Materials needed:

(The yardage that follows is for the beanie with no brim/with a 2” cuffed brim/with a 3” cuffed brim.)
Two skeins of worsted weight/size 4 yarn in contrasting colors, approximately 150/190/210 yards total--roughly 80/100/110 yards of Color A and 70/90/100 yards of Color B.

US 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needles with a 16” cord

US 7 (4.5 mm) Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or US 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needles with a longer cord for Magic Loop Method

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Pom pom maker or faux fur pom, if desired
