There’s a lot to love about a cabled handknit sock. The finished socks are so impressive, especially to non-knitters. The delightful twists and turns keep the maker engaged throughout the process. Although they may look challenging, these cables are simple to knit.

A few details about the construction: Each sock starts at the toe with a Turkish cast on, using the magic loop method. Line-by-line directions for the shadow wrap short row heel are included for each of five sizes, making this pattern accessible to beginner sock knitters and more advanced ones who wish to try a new technique.

Love charts? Each size has its own unique cable chart. Hate those darn things? No worries- the pattern is also written out, line by line. You’ve got this!

The sock is finished with a twisted rib cuff which adds to the easy elegance of the design. Bind off loosely, weave in those few ends, lightly block and prepare to get lots of compliments as you wear them out and about!
