Double U-Turn
My friend and knitting mentor Sandy was talking about how much she loves i-cord edgings one day. As she pondered, she said, “It would be really neat if you cast on a project from the middle and worked outward so you could easily slip stitches to create an i-cord edging.” I immediately began sketching and sharing my ideas with her.
I’ve always thought there had to be a better way to make a shawl so it will actually stay on your shoulders. I decided a “u-turn” would be the perfect trick! Short row wedges allow the ends of this shawl to not only drape over their respective shoulders, but also reach around to the opposite shoulder.
This lightweight & easy to wear design is bound to become one of your favorite accessories. Dress it up or down. Wear it as a shawl or scarf. Drape it over your shoulders or wrap it nice and snug. You’ll find a use for this lightweight shawl at any time of the year!
