Doulton Hat
This pattern is
available for free.
This pattern uses slipped stitches to make a thick brim and a lattice on the body of the hat. This means each row is knit in one colour at a time, with no other colour yarn to carry behind the work. If you haven’t used slipped stitches before, you’ll be delighted at how easy they are to do and how effective they look. It was my project for Wovember 2015 and is knitted in 100% Border Leicester Wool from the Doulton Flock - do support this rare breed of sheep, brought back from the verge of extinction by Ellie Stokeld, the wool can be bought direct from the farm.
