This pattern was first published in May 2017, but has now been updated with preemie and newborn sizes and instructions on how to knit in the round.

Learn how to knit the Douro Baby Romper with this beginner friendly knitting pattern.
The pdf tutorial has lots of photos and step by step instructions to help you through your project.
This baby romper can be knitted flat or in the round. Instructions for both versions are available in the pdf file. It is worked from the bottom up and, while the body is knitted in stockinette stitch, the chest iand straps are made in garter stitch, buttoning at the front.
There are also instructions (with a video tutorial) to knit and add an optional garter stitch pocket.
PATTERN INFORMATION:
- Available Sizes: teeny newborn (±2,250Kg/±5 lbs), tiny newborn (±2,700Kg/±6 lbs), small newborn (±3,150kg/±7 lbs), newborn (±3,600kg/±8 lbs), 0-1 months, 1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months.
- Construction: 2 versions available --> Knitted flat / Knitted in the round.
- Experience level: Advanced Beginner.
- Yarn: Sport / DK weight yarn.
- Tension: 25 stitches x 34 rows = 10cm / 4” in stocking stitch, with 3,5mm (US 4) needles.
- Yardage: approx. 130-345 meters.
- Needles: 3,5mm (US 4) straight or circular needles (depending the version you knit).
- Knitting techniques: Knit, Purl, simple increases and decreases.
- Languages: English and Portuguese.
