Dovetail Socks
A dovetail is a very old, yet simple, method of joinery in woodworking. It is often used for furniture and even cabinet drawers. In the textured stitch pattern featured on the Dovetail Socks, I find the simple way the small cables and blocks of stockinette are offset creates an interlocking effect - very similar to that of dovetail joinery.
The textured stitch pattern acts much like ribbing and has a lot of comfortable stretch to fit many sizes and shapes of feet.
These socks are written for top down, in the round, with a slip stitch heel flap and gusset, and simple wedge toe - & knit up quickly!
A POP of color on the bottom of the heel is a fun way to use up those tiny, TINY(!) balls of leftover yarn you just can’t bear to throw away!
