Downton Abbey Afghan
This lovely commemorative afghan is knitted in nine separate squares, with each square representing one of the featured female lead characters from the popular television series, Downton Abbey. The nine squares are individually blocked and then seamed together. Each square is approx. 14” x 14” blocked, allowing for individual differences in knitters’s gauges. Each square requires one skein of Cascade 220 Superwash worsted weight yarn (approx. 220 yds.) at 5 sts = 1” over stockinette stitch using a US #7 needle. An optional crocheted lace border is worked after the afghan is blocked and seamed and requires one additional skein of yarn (220 yds.) and a size H crochet hook. A total of 2200 yds. of worsted weight yarn will make one complete afghan (10 skeins of Cascade 220 Superwash yarn). Lace patterns are geared towards advanced beginner skill levels.
