As a fan of Downton Abbey, I particularly enjoyed the character of the Dowager Countess and her unforgettable lines. Her reaction when first hearing the expression “weekend” was particularly priceless: “What is a weekend?” Finding a beautiful colour bearing that quote inspired me to design these comfy socks, perfect for a relaxing weekend. This simple texture will take centre stage in tonals, but can also be a great background to allow more complex colourways to shine. Happy weekend!

  • Note that the pattern is written to take full advantage of a Deconstructed Fade skein of Shirley Brian Yarns. For this reason, the number of suggested repeats is larger than usual to give a very long leg. However, the pattern also includes suggestions for slight modifications if you are using a regular skein or wish for a more standard leg length. You choose which is best for your project!
