The Downtown Twist Tunic is a loose and fluid garment designed for the adventurous beginning knitter but also reaches out to the more advanced knitter. For those who want to learn or improve skills in provisional cast-on, German short rows, 3-needle bind-off, and various lace patterns, this is an excellent opportunity. As you will see, the directions have been divided into easy-to-follow sections and patterns. The more advanced knitter may choose to venture from the written pattern by trying different weights of yarn and varying the length of the sleeves or body.

Use a DK-weight cotton, linen, or silk blend yarn.

Select a size with positive ease:
X-Small (40” by 24”) 650 - 775 yds
Small (44” by 24”) 950 - 1000 yds
Medium (48” by 24”) 1075 - 1100 yds
Large (52” by 24”) 1275 – 1300 yds
X-Large (56” by 24”) 1425 - 1500 yds
