Dowth Cowl
Dowth is one of the three megalithic passage tombs, along with Knowth and Newgrange, in the Brú na Bóinne heritage site. An unprofessional excavation in 1847 has left Dowth in less than stellar condition, so visitors are unable to enter the tomb.
The sun carvings on the stone marking one of the entrances serve as the inspiration for this cowl. Knit and purl stitches create a sun design that is the focus of the piece. The motif originally featured in my Dowth Slouchy Beanie, and this cowl serves as a partner to that pattern.
Pay What You Can I’ve introduced a permanent discount scheme that will help keep my designs accessible to a range of budgets while also pricing them in a way that reflects the investment put into my designs and craft.
