Very small needles are required for this pattern as written. Including 000 which was not available in the needle size drop down above.

From Jan Messents pattern description:

Tension:
Please note that all the instructions given in this book are merely guidelines and will almost certainly have to be altered here and there to fit figures and shapes of all sizes, as no two people ever work to exactly the same tension. You may have to add or subtract a few stitches and/or rows and if a different weight yarn is used from the one recommended, then a bit of juggling is inevitable!

Notes:
As frame sizes may differ in the making, use a tape-measure to check measurements at all stages, and alter the pattern accordinly.
You will need 1.5mm (US 000), 2.25mm (US 1), 2.75mm (US 2) needles; about 1oz/20gms bright orange 3 or 4 ply glittery yarn for the eyes; about 14 pcs, sticky-tape, small pliers, strong bendable wire and 14in/36 cm long, padding; 2 large cup-shaped sequins and 2 small glass beads for the eyes.
