Materials note: Any yarn size or color can be used; just use knitting needles at least 2 sizes smaller than recommended so stuffing doesn’t show through stitches.

This PDF knitting pattern is written in English for high intermediate to advanced knitters knitting flat on two needles. It is one of my most difficult patterns, but it gives practice with many techniques like intarsia, short rows, and bind-off picots.

You need to have…

• Yarn in desired color and weight (~3.5oz/100g for sport weight; ~12oz/350g for worsted)
• Contrast yarn for eyes
• Knitting needles at least 2 sizes smaller than those recommended for the yarn being used
• Stuffing
• Tapestry needle
• Crochet hook for whiskers & spikes

Techniques you’ll use…

• Stockinette stitch
• Increase and decrease stitches
• Mattress stitch for seams
• Bobble stitch for nostrils
• Short rows and picots for ears and wings
• Scale stitch for skin (optional)
• Single crochet and picots for back spikes
