Dragon Gate Inn is a triangular shawl worked from the bottom up with an edging knitted on afterwards. The patterns for both the shawl body and the edging are charted.

You should know how to cast on provisionally, pick up stitches, knit on an edging, and be familiar with both cables and lace.

OK, let’s be honest here. This is a horrible pattern. The charts are barely understandable and neither is the text. If you attempted it and got an actual shawl out of it, you’re my hero. I was planning to republish it in 2014 with lots of improvements but I lost the charts I’d made for the new version. So I’ll have another shot at it in 2017, I think. Until then: caveat knittor ;-)
