Thank you so much for checking out my dragon plushie pouch! This intermediate level pattern includes instructions for both a dragon or bat as a plushie or a drawstring pouch. The pouch version was designed using Bernat Blanket yarn and an 8 mm hook. Using the suggested materials, it will fit a 5x7 inch drawstring bag. Although this pattern explains how to attach the drawstring liner bag, you can make the pouch without a liner as well. My finished pouches are about 17 x 11 in.

This pattern is written in US terms and is worked mostly in the round. The pattern will indicate where we switch to working in rows. The straps for the pouch are “made to fit” and include cross-body and backpack options.

The best part of this pattern is it makes a great base for whatever dragon you’d like to create! I hope you have fun creating your plushie pouches!

Supplies:
-Yarn
3 colors of Bernat Blanket Yarn (1 skein each)
color A - main body color
color B - accent color (horns, wings, belly)
color C - strap color
Optional: a few yards of worsted weight acrylic (if you’re making a pouch but not using a drawstring liner, you’ll need to make your own drawstring), you could also use ribbon or another alternative.
bat: a few yards of worsted weight acrylic to embroider the nose
-8.0 mm hook & 4.0 mm hook if you need to crochet a drawstring
-30 mm safety eyes
-5x7 inch cotton canvas bag for the liner
-blunt tipped needle for sewing
-scissors
-poly-fil
-optional: stitch markers, sewing pins (to pin pieces in place before sewing), something to poke holes through the liner (I used my yarn needle & a 3.5mm hook, you can also carefully cut small holes with scissors)
