Dragonfly Illusion Blanket
This filet crochet design is the latest design in using my signature dragonflies. Filet crochet generally refers to the use of solid blocks and spaces to create a picture or work defined by these spaces. This design incorporates this technique with the background using linked stitches and stitch clusters or Dc3tog (US terminology).
All special stitches are explained within the written pattern.
A colour block graph is used to chart is also provided. You can find information on colour block graphs in my how to section. located my webpage, or click the link.link text
·I used 3 ½ cakes of Alize Bella Ombre Batik. This does not have an obvious colour change point where it grades darker. To get an even colour flow, I alternated balls each round without cutting. The last half ball was then used from the darker colour and transitioning to the lighter colour. If using Scheepjes Whirl or similar, with an obvious colour change point, cut the yarn at each point and work each section of colour from the other ball(s). This does create extra ends to sew in, but the finished look is well worth the effort!
Crochet terminology: Both US and UK.
Materials:
3.5mm clover armour hook.
4 x Alize Bella Ombre Batik, 900m/984yd per ball. Approx total used 3150m/3444.8yd if gauge is met.
