Dragons Teeth Scarf
Designed for a man. Can be worn by a woman.
This intricately cabled scarf has a repetitive pattern that is fun to make. Watch the Dragon’s Teeth grow on your scarf. Easily adaptable to the length that you want. This is a great present for when the nights are cold and snowy. The man in your life will be proud to say that you made this for him. It is wide enough to cover the face, neck and ears in the windiest and coldest of weather.
I designed this for men to wear as either a scarf or man shawl. It would make a nice ”man shawl” for a man who is a shut-in. It can be used in any number of ways for a man and launders easily if made with acrylic.
Instructions for the 2 color version have not been included in the pattern. You can find the details and tips on my project page, Me Tarzan You Shawl.
- I used a worsted weight acrylic chenille which softened in the dryer. I wanted something that was easily laundered when I gifted it to my sons (even though I taught them how to use the washer and dryer - who knows if they remember?).
Fiber
Caron Jewel Box, Chenille, Worsted (Medium-4) Weight, Pearl 0001, 90 yards / 83 meters, 2.5 ounces / 70.9 grams
Used: 7.5 skeins, 675 yards / 622.5 meters
This is an extended ripple pattern with cables. Rich in texture and visual appeal. Yet it is easily memorized. The pattern comes with a 2 page printable “Quick Rows” section to take with you when you are working the pattern repeat.
This pattern is rated intermediate because it uses front post stitches and a Long dc.
Instructions are given for how to make the pattern wider or longer. By using a finer weight of yarn you can widen the ripple repeat and have a beautifully textured stole.
