This adorable little Drake is very fast and easy to make, it’s perfect for any crocheter - even beginners!
The Drake I made for this pattern came out so well, he melted my heart! He’s now sat above my bed on my shelf, standing guard while I sleep.

The stitches used are: SC, INC, DEC and CHAIN

Drake came out at a lovely 5 inches (13cm) tall, 8 inches (20cm) from nose to tail and 3.5 (9cm) wide.
If you used 4mm wool and a 3.5mm hook like I did, these measurements will be accurate.

The beautiful thing about this pattern is that you can use any colour wool you want, and any size. This pattern is literally the bare bones of how to make a Drake - so you can make it any colour and size you want, and all spikes / horns are optional! Make as many as you wish and sew them on wherever you feel like.

Drakes are not well known in the Dragon kingdom, they are still terrifying though! Even though they lack wings, they make up for it with incredible speed, power and stealth. Drakes are known to sneak around villages at night, sniffing out treasure with their incredible sense of smell - when they have found what they want…. they sneak off back to their mountain or forest lair to add to their stash of treasure - oh and maybe sneak a quick meal from a farm on their way!
Drakes are very territorial and protective, so having one to stand guard on a shelf, or even on your office desk will be good!
