Draped In Diamonds is a large triangular shawl, knitted in 4ply/fingering weight yarn at a relatively loose gauge to create a beautiful flowing fabric; perfect to drape over your shoulders to add warmth and elegance on a summer’s evening!

The shawl is customisable in size; the full shawl uses around 150 grams of 4ply. Testers who used (and loved!) Knitting For Olive Merino found that they needed just under 3 balls, but only had 5 - 10 grams left over, so knitters are advised to get a 4th ball ready just in case, or to omit the picot bind off, as explained in the pattern.

A swatch pattern is included so knitters can check that they are using the best needle size for their chosen yarn.

Techniques used in the shawl include simple lace stitches (SSK, K2tog, YO), making bobbles and an optional picot bind off. These are explained in the introduction; knitters who aren’t keen on bobbles can choose to substitute beads instead, or simple purl stitches in their place if preferred.

A big thank you to my lovely testers: Agnes, Amanda, Anne, Claire, Grace, Judith, Katrin, Mary and Mel, and to Helen, my beautiful Admin Fairy for formatting/editing the pattern!
