This flexible pattern can be used to make either a drapey, open vest or 3/4-sleeve cardigan. Both pieces are constructed in pieces from the bottom up; the cardigan includes set-in sleeves. The collar is knit separately in two pieces and then seamed onto the sweater. Edges are finished with a small amount of 1x1 rib.

Lorna’s Laces Sportmate is a phenomenal high-tech blend of wicking Outlast fiber and wool. A fairly elastic wool with some drape blended in is ideal.

You will need 4 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8) hanks of Sportmate for the vest and 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) hanks for the cardigan.
