Marlene Miller’s draw string bag pattern has a low level difficulty rating (2/5). The pattern forms a disk for the base of the bag, and then works up to the draw string opening and shoulder strap. The pattern allows for some variation in the size of the bag, and the length of the strap. Our sample’s measurements are listed below (draw string completely loosened), and give an idea of what can be achieved:

top opening: 60cm around (30cm measured flat)
base: 15cm diameter
height: 22cm
strap and ties: 65cm long with bag open, 90cm with bag shut
