SKILLS
To knit this vest you need to know how to cast on
stitches with any method, although the long tail caston
is recommended, to knit, purl, and work in the
round, to be familiar with the stranded colourwork
technique, to work following charted instructions, to
make increases, to pick up stitches, and to bind off
stitches. It is essential to be able to follow charted
instructions, as they are used for the colourwork detail
of the body of the vest and written instructions are not
provided.
CONSTRUCTION
This vest is knit top-down, i.e. it is started at the neckline,
working in the round. Then, increases are made
to shape the shoulders, and front and back are split
to work them flat independently (although they can
be worked both at a time, as they are worked alike),
so that the armholes are made. Once the determined
armhole height has been reached for each size, front
and back are joined once again at the underarms
to continue knitting the rest of the body in the round,
which is finished with a colourwork detail at the bottom,
before the ribbing.Stitches are picked up around
the armholes to finish them with a ribbing. It is worked
seamlessly, all in one piece.
GAUGE
21 stitches and 28 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
stockinette stitch, without blocking.
24 stitches and 26 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, without blocking.
18 stitches and 25 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, after blocking.
YARN
2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins in Colour 1 (main colour),
and 1 skein in Colour 2 for all sizes (contrast colour) of
Worsted by Tanana Yarns (100% Superwash Merino;
220 m / 100 g; 240 yd / 3.52 oz)
The colourways used are Stars and Pink Panther for
the white / fuchsia version, and Midnight and Neon
Reggae for the blue / green version.
NEEDLES
4.5 mm US 7 circular needles, or the required needle
size to obtain gauge, with a cable length of 40 cm
16” for the neckline and longer for the body.
4 mm US 6 circular needles with a cable length of
80 cm 32” to finish the armholes on magic loop, or
23 cm 9” shorties to not work on magic loop.
OTHER NOTIONS
1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round, and
another one for the increases. Tapestry needle to
weave in ends.

NOCIONES PREVIAS
Para tejer este chaleco es necesario saber tejer punto
del derecho, del revés, montar puntos mediante cualquier
método, aunque se recomienda el de la hebra
larga, cerrar puntos, hacer aumentos, remontar puntos
y tejer en circular. También es imprescindible saber leer
gráficos de colourwork, ya que las instrucciones para
tejer el detalle del remate cuerpo en colourwork se
dan únicamente en forma de gráfico.
CONSTRUCCIÓN
Este chaleco se empieza tejiendo por el cuello en
circular, a continuación se hacen una serie de aumentos
en los hombros y se separa el delantero y el trasero
para tejerlos de manera independiente (aunque los
puedes tejer a la vez), para dejar el hueco de los brazos
definiendo las sisas. Una vez alcanzado el tamaño
de la sisa que se necesita para cada talla, se vuelve
a unir en circular para tejer el resto del cuerpo, que se
remata con un detalle en colourwork antes del elástico.
Finalmente se remontan puntos alrededor de las sisas
para acabarlas con un pequeño elástico. Se realiza de
una sola pieza, sin ninguna costura.

21 puntos y 28 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10
cm 4 x 4” en punto jersey, sin bloquear.
24 puntos y 26 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10
cm 4 x 4” en el motivo del chaleco, sin bloquear.
18 puntos y 25 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10
cm 4 x 4” en el motivo del chaleco, después de bloquear.

2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4) madejas en color 1 (color principal)
y 1 en color 2 para todas las tallas (color de contraste)
de Worsted de Tanana Yarns (100% merino superwash;
220 m / 100 g; 240 yd / 3.52 oz).
Los colores utilizados son el Stars y el Pink Panther
para la muestra blanca / rosa fucsia, y el Midnight y
el Neon Reggae para la muestra azul / verde.
AGUJAS
Agujas circulares de 4.5 mm US 7 o las necesarias
para obtener la muestra de tensión, con cable de 40
cm 16” para el escote y más largo para el cuerpo.
Agujas de 4 mm US 6 con cable de 80 cm 32”
para rematar las sisas con magic loop, o shorties de
23 cm 9” para no usar magic loop.
