Socks are my favorite project to make and to give to close friends for their birthdays. One reason I love socks so much is that they fit most wearers. Recently, one of my friends let me know that the last pair of socks I gave her were hard to put on as they were too tight from the heel to the instep. (The stitch pattern and yarn were a little less forgiving than other pairs I had made in the past.) I decided to remedy this by placing increases at both sides of the instep before and after the heel. Check the finished measurements before selecting the size to knit.
