This design is knitted sideways using knit weaving techniques. Any bulky machine may be used. Automatic patterning may create the knit-weave but it can also be done manually just as effectively. A second yarn is needed for the weaving yarn. It may be a thicker yarn with bumps or other characteristics that would make machine knitting it difficult. This is a great place to use a “say something” yarn. The knit weaving yarn takes only about half of the yardage required of the main yarn. The weaving shows on the purl side which is the right side of the fabric for this jacket. This is part of an entire book of sideways styles. The whole table of contents is below.
