This is a pattern for a lacy shoulder cowl. The finished cowl measures 12 inches X 60 inches (however, both the length and width can be adjusted easily.) The lace cowl can be worn as a spring garment, draping over your shoulders in a way that won’t fall off. Or it can be made to be warmer, by wrapping it around your neck and shoulders, as seen in the pictures. However, you may have a favorite way to wear cowls that’s different from mine. The lace stitch is a very open one, so it is suitable for at least three seasons, in addition to being very feminine.

The lace stitches are both charted, and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a good working knowledge of both knitting, purling, and lace knitting.)

The yarn used in the sample is made with Shalimar’s Breathless in colorway Sonoma, requires only two skeins of it.

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Barbara Robertson, who can be contacted at: Barb. Robertson@gmail.com, and is known on Ravelry as NanaKnits4Us.
