Solid and non-solid (grid like background) variants of the same pattern. You could do just the main panel, or the main panel and the first border, or the full width of the blanket.
Overlay mosaic and Interlocking Filet crochet bottom up row by row or in the round.
You require two colors of yarn, color 1 (C1) for the background and color 2 (C2) for the leaves and flowers.
Terminology: all crochet terms used are U.S.
- The Main panel 239 st x 351 rows / 119x175 filet windows
- The Main panel and the First Border 283 st x 395 rows / 141x197 filet windows
- The full width of the blanket 301 st x 413 rows / 150x206 filet windows
Gauge: 10 stitches in 5cm (2”) by 5 rows in 5cm (2”) in dc stitch pattern.
Using a different gauge won’t affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.
Hook 3.25 – 3.5 mm. Hook size needed to match the gauge.
Yardage approx.
- The Main panel row by row 2950 m / 3226 yds of C1 yarn and 2650 m / 2898 yds of C2 yarn (119x175 cm / 47x69 inches)
- The Main panel and the First Border (red&yellow in the picture) row by row 3950 m / 4320 yds of C1 yarn and 3550 m / 3882 yds of C2 yarn (141x197 cm / 55½x77½ inches). If you want to make the First Border as an envelope border, you will need an additional 750 m / 820 yds for each color of yarn.
- The full width of the blanket bottom up row by row 4450 m / 4870 yds of C1 yarn and 3900 m / 4265 yds of C2 yarn (150x206 cm / 59x81 inches). If you want to make the Second Border (green&cyan in the picture) as an envelope border, you will need an additional 350 m / 383 yds for each color of yarn.
