Dreamy Necklace
Vi kvinder kan jo aldrig få nok smykker, og jeg elsker at have flere halskæder på. Jeg drømte om flere guldkæder, men pengepungen kunne ikke følge med den drøm, så derfor designede jeg denne halskæde, som består af 3 strikkede “halskæder” med bling, skinnende og pelset effekt. Halskæderne er strikket med teknikken bieser og har et fint udtryk af at være kæder.

Halskæden er rigtig sjov at strikke, da der oftes skiftes mellem garn og teknikker. Udtagninger, vendestrik, og løbemasker skaber den dråbeformede facon.

Opskriften er for den letøvede til øvede strikker.

Materialer
Rundpind str. 3,5 mm 60 cm
10 maskemarkører - dem, der kan åbnes
En strømpepind eller anden pind i str. 2,5-3 mm (bruges til at strikke bieser).

Strikkefasthed
Jeg strikker forholdsvist stramt, især når bieserne strikkes sammen, for at de bliver helt pæne. Strikker du løst, vil jeg anbefale en mindre pindstørrelse, og at du husker at få strammet ekstra til, når du strikker bieserne sammen.

Mål
Efter blokking måler halskæden 35-37 cm

Garnvalg
Jeg har anvendt garner til denne halskæde, som giver en skinnende og en pelset effekt. Det er gjort ved at anvende metaltråd, palliettråd og mohair med silketråd.
Har du garnrester, så vil jeg i høj grad anbefale dig, at dykke ned i dem. Til anden og tredje biese har jeg selv valgt 3 tynde tråde af forskelligt udtryk, fx. en tråd med pallietter, en med mohair og en tredje, som alle 3 giver et flot changerende farvespil. Forsøg dig med farvekombinationer ved at sno 2-3 tråde om hinanden, for at få en ide om, hvordan det endelig udtryk vil være.
Jeg har anvendt uldgarn, da det filtrer ind i hinanden ved den første vask og gør halskæden stærk. Samtidigt er den meget nem at få blokket i den facon, man ønsker og gør den let og luftig.

Farve A: Mørk tynd garnkvalitet - anvendes i sektion 1, 2, 4, samt afslutning.
Farve B: Metaltråd - anvendes til biesen i sektion 1.
Farve C: Kontrastfarve - anvendes i sektion 2 til vævestrikken og skal træde ud fra farve A. I min version har jeg ladet denne kontrastfarve indgå både i vævstrikken og i tredje biese, som herunder er farve F.
Farve D: En tykkere tråd eller en kombination af 2-3 tynde tråde til biesen i sektion 3. Brug gerne garner med pallietter og mohair.
Farve E: En meget tynd tråd fx Isagers Alpaca 1 til at gå sammen med farve A, når der skal strikkes løbemasker i sektion 4. Bemærk i øvrigt, at hvis du ønsker at løbemaskerne står skarpt frem, så brug gerne en mørk tråd sammen med en tynd lys tråd fx. Isagers tynde Alpaca 1.
Farve F: En tykkere tråd eller en kombination af 2-3 tynde tråde til biesen i sektion 5. Brug fx en tynd tråd sammen (fx. farve C) med 2 forskellige mohair tråde i henholdsvis en lysere og mørkere tone end den tynde tråd.

We women can never get enough jewelry and I love to wear multiple necklaces at a time. I dreamed of several gold chains, but my economy couldn’t follow that dream, which made me design this necklace. It consists of 3 knitted “necklaces” with bling, shiny and furry effects. The necklaces are knitted with the welt technique and have a nice expression of being chains.

The necklace is really fun to knit, as yarns and techniques changes all the time. Increases, short rows and drop stitches creates the shape of a drop.

Difficulty
The pattern is for the lower intermediate to an intermediate knitter.
I don’t care to much about keeping the right amount of stitches. If you lose a stitch or have to many stitches at some point, don’t worry, just keep on knitting.

Circular needle US 4 23” / 3.5 mm 60 cm
A spear needle US 2½ / 3.0 mm (used for knitting welts).

Gauge
I’m a tight knitter, especially when knitting the welts. If you are a loose knitter, I recommend you to use a smaller needle size, and do be aware to tighten the work, when you knit the welts.

Size
After blocking the necklace measures approximately 14” / 36 cm.

Yarn
The yarns I have chosen for the necklace, gives a shiny and a furry effect. This is done by using metal thread, yarns with sequins and mohair with silk.

I highly recommend you to dive into your stash to find yarns. For the second and third welts, I chose 3 thin threads of different expressions, eg. one thread with sequins, one with mohair and one fingering yarn. And when knitted together the three yarns gives a beautifully shimmering effect. Before knitting the necklace, try out different color combinations by twisting 2-3 threads to get an idea of ​​how the final expression will be.

I have used wool yarn as it filters into each other at the first wash and makes the necklace strong. At the same time it is very easy to block in the shape you want and make it light and airy.

Color A: a dark color, fingering weight - used in section 1, 2, 4, and for the picot BO.
Color B: metal tread, fingering weight - used for the welt in section 1.
Color C: contrast color, fingering weight - used in section 2 for the mosaic pattern and must stand out from color A. In my version I also used this contrast color in the third welt in section 5, which in this description is color F.
Color D: one DK weight thread OR a combination of 2-3 thinner threads - used for the welt in section 3. I recommend using yarns with sequins and mohair.
Color E: a very thin tread, eg. Isager Alpaca 1 - make it go with color A. Used for the dropped stitches in section 4. Notice: if you want the dropped stitches to stand out from color A, I recommend using a much lighter color for your choice on E.
Color F: one DK weight thread OR a combination of 2-3 thinner threads - used for the welt in section 5. Eg. use 2 different mohair threads with 1 fingering weight thread (eg. color C) - the mohair threads could be a light and a dark color.
