Happy holidays!

When it’s snowy and cold outside, my thoughts turn to things I can look forward to beyond the bustle of December … hopeful signs of post-winter, like delicate snowdrops peaking out of the ground. It’s reassuring to know that nature’s freeze, though beautiful in its own right, is temporary.

This swirling lace pattern is “dreamy” to the touch, feel and look … I think of it as soul (sole?) food for the feet… until spring finally makes its way back to my northern city!

The Dreamy Snowdrops sock is knit in 80/20 fingering sock yarn. I’ve chosen an icy, “sea-glass” blue, hand-painted by Lichen and Lace. It’s worked top-down, with tubular cast-on for a stretchy yet snug fit. Other techniques include German short-row heel shaping and Kitchener stitch grafting at the toe. Online tutorials are suggested for knitters who need guidance with these techniques. Knitting chart and written instructions provided.
