Yarn
This project uses fingering weight yarn. The sample uses By Amalie Merino Sock, a 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon blend 4-ply fingering weight yarn, 100g (464 yds / 425 m) - exact shades in parentheses. Due to the nature of colorwork, the following amounts are approximate only:
MC: 40 g (185 yds / 170 m) Dark blue (Hamsa)
CC1: 10 g (45 yds / 40 m) Orange (Esh)
CC2: 10 g (45 yds / 40 m) Cream (Shamenet)
CC3: 10 g (45 yds / 40 m) Teal (Dreidel)
Notes on CC choices
The sock is shown with 3 contrast colors; however, you can use just one for a simpler look or use up scraps for constantly changing dreidel colors.
If you choose a different number of CC, bear in mind that you will need a total amount of approx 30 g (140 yds / 120 m) of CC. All CC should contrast with the MC, but strong contrast between the CCs is not necessary.
