Dressed Alike Cables
“It’s always fun to make matching adult and child sweaters. But in designing them, you have to keep the proportion of the sweaters in mind. A stitch pattern that looks good on an adult’s sweater can sometimes be overpowering on a smaller version for children. That’s why I used a smaller cable on the child’s sweater, resulting in the same look and proportion as the for the adult’s version. The cimple knit/purl pattern on the yoke works well for both versions. And the cut-in armholes help decrease the bulk at the underarm. Even though you might cringe at all the cables, this lofty yarn makes it go quicker than you think! And without the weight of a bulky yarn.”
