Dressed in May
Dressed in May is a fun, V-shaped shawl worked in two colours. The shape is simple to work and easy to wear. Dressed in May plays with short rows and different kinds of slipped stitches. The shawl is designed to combine a skein of both old and new version of Tukuwool Fingering. The old, 50 gram skein should be C1 and the new 100 gram skein C2. You’ll want to make sure you are on gauge, as the pattern will use up pretty much all of the yarn.
Size:
One size, medium.
Yarn:
Tukuwool Fingering (100 % Finnish wool, 370 m/100 g (new version) OR 195 m/50 g (old version)).
Sample uses one skein of the new version and one skein of the old version. Shown in colourways H35 Havu (C1, old) and H36 Rohto (C2, new).
1 skein of each.
Meterage:
C1: 213 yrds/195 meters. C2: 405 yrds/370 meters.
Note: Tukuwool is an airy, woolly yarn that goes quite a long way. If substituting yarn, you may need a bit more.
Needles:
3,75 mm (US 5) - 40” / 100 cm circular needle.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.
Gauge:
19 sts x 34 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in stockinette worked flat (after blocking).
Others:
stitch markers, tapestry needle.
