I created this simple pattern, to use up some of the beautiful yarn I had in my stash. It is a simple bottom-up poncho, with mesh lace at the end. It is a smart and light weight poncho that you can wear on dresses. My favorite part was the way the sequins in the Kidsilk haze glamour yarn add a little sparkle to the poncho.

About the pattern: It is the first time that I created a pattern, so I hope this will be easy to understand and follow. It can be easily modified to make a size larger or smaller. Having said that, this really is a one size fits all kinda design. I had a few friends try it on, and it fits different sizes pretty well. Base circumference is 42 inches and the height of the poncho is 12 inches after the lace part ends. I used 1 skein each of the Rowan Kidsilk haze glamour and Isager Stirk Alpaca 2. These yarns go well with each other to give a slightly fuzzy appearance. After finishing the poncho, I didn’t have much yarn left in either skein.

Hope you have fun making this poncho! I would love to have your comments or feedback, and to see your pictures!

26th August Errata:
Thank you everyone for the amazing response to my design. There is a minor errata in the pattern. Almost at the end of the pattern, on step 7, there is a misprint. It says:

Step 7: (Next row: With CC,(K2tog, K to 2 St before M, SKP, SM) repeat till the end of the row. Knit next 4 rows.) Repeat this step one more time.

Here, you have to knit only 3 rows after the (K2tog, K to 2 St before M, SKP, SM) repeat till the end of the row
That way, you will have a set of 4 rows with the CC. You will then repeat these 4 rows once and then proceed to step 8.

Thanks!
