The bonnet is made by knitting the cabled brim and then the stitches are picked-up and worked back and forth in rows on circular needle using St st. The stitches are then joined and the crown shaping is worked in the round.

MATERIALS
- 2 x 50g skeins of bulky yarn (I used ICE Yarns
Peru Alpaca Bulky (25% alpaca, 50% merino, 25%
acrylic; 60m/66yd; 50g))

• Straight needles size 8 (US size 11) for the brim
• circular needle size 6.5 (US size 10½), 40cm (16”) long
• double pointed needles size 6.5 (US size 10½) for the crown
• cable needle
• 2 stitch markers
• tapestry needle
