Dried Roses
DRIED ROSES is a large triangle shaped shawl, featuring a border with brioche stitches along a garter stitch body. All brioche “cables” are made without cable needles, using the Brioche Star Stitch, which is a combination of well known stitches.
Choose a light color (LC) and combine it with a bright colored yarn (DC) to create this lovely shawl.
The pattern contains written as well as charted instructions so you can choose which prefer to work from. The shawl starts with the tip that sets up the brioche pattern. Once it is established, it becomes the brioche border of the shawl and the garter stitch body grows in the main section. In every row only 54 brioche stitches are to be knit, once the pattern is established. So don´t be afraid of brioche knitting any longer. You don´t have to be.
The pattern can be knit in multiple sizes only by changing needle size and gauge; Block the finished work to smooth stitches. It takes four skeins of fingering weight yarn to knit the large version.
