Driftwood Beach Bag
Pattern Inspiration:
This pattern was inspired by the incredible beaches of coastal Oregon! We stayed in the charming town of Gold Beach, and the beaches there had the largest amount of driftwood that I had ever seen in one place! It was so fun to look at the unique shapes and colors of the branches, and imagine where they had come from originally.
Basic Information:
• Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
• Yarn: Bulky weight yarn, such as t-shirt yarn or tube yarn like Bernat Maker. Worsted weight yarn held double would also work! You’ll need 100-130 yards for the crossbody size, and 500-550 yards for the tote size. I used about 90 yards of Bernat Maker for the crossbody size, and about 490 yards for the tote size.
• Hook: 5.5 mm, or size needed to meet gauge.
• Finished size: Crossbody - 6.5” wide, 8” tall. Tote - 14” wide by 13” tall, not including handles.
• Gauge: in pattern, rows 1-11 = approximately 4” tall. 15 hdc stitches = approximately 4” wide.
A photo tutorial is included for all major pattern elements.
