These socks are inspired by Drogon, the dragon featured in a popular cable television fantasy-science-fiction series.

The pattern uses Jorstad Creek San Juan, a hand-painted sock yarn, in a specially developed rich dark black and several shades of red. On a sock project the small color sections will pool in a dramatic unpredictable pattern, not unlike the dramatic unpredictable dragon these socks are named for!

The toe up pattern is topped by a short cuff knitted in a “scaley” rib pattern that pixelates the colors to imitate dragon scales.
