This pattern features Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies) around the brim of the hat and is a perfect hat for anyone who uses fruit flies in their research.

The finished hat is ~19” unstretched, stretches to ~24” and measures ~7” from the brim to the top. The hat can be made larger or smaller by adding or subtracting fruit fly repeats.

Make sure to check your gauge, as I have a very loose gauge. If you have a tight gauge, you may need to add a few flies or go up in needle size.
