Drought-Proof Crochet Cactus
At last, a plant you can’t kill by forgetting to water it! This adorable cactus is simple to make and fun to customize with a container of your choice. Here are the materials you will need:
Materials
Yarn for cactus:
• Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Wool in color: 802 Green Apple
Or equivalent green worsted weight.
• Small amount of red worsted weight for flower
For container:
• A pot or planting container of your choice I used a 5 ½’’ square glass dish
• A piece of green florist’s foam that will fit into the bottom of your container and end about ¼ to ½ inch from the top. You can always get a slightly larger piece of foam and cut it down to size with any craft knife.
• Craft wire, approximately 20 gauge
• Decorative gravel or other craft store potting material (artificial moss of similar)
• If your container is clear like mine, you may want a small piece of brown or green felt to place in the bottom to hide the foam.
