Wool dryer balls help lower your energy bill by making laundry more efficient. They’re also a quick, practical knit and are a great use for leftover wool.

These balls are worked flat in Garter Stitch with yarn held double and sewn closed, cinched at the first and last rows. Simple shaping at the bottom and top of the project makes a smoothly spherical shape. Selvage edges make for easy sewing.

The dryer balls are filled with non-superwash wool roving. Felting in the washing machine using hot water transforms them into laundry’s best friend!

Dryer balls can also be used as toys for young children or pets.
Three balls can be made from one hank of Simply Wool, if you prefer one color for all three.

Two balls can be made from one hank of roving, so after completing the three balls you’ll have enough roving left over to make one extra if you want to.
