This gently fitting, seamless and reversible Beanie is knitted in the round from Brim up, working both layers at the same time.
Although you will be working both layers simultaneously, when measuring tension you can only measure on one side of the fabric, so when you work 26 rounds of Brim you are actually working 13 rounds of each layer (inside and outside). Due to the double knitting patt, both sides of the Beanie have the appearance of stocking stitch.
Both layers of Brim are worked in Yarn A, then Yarn B is joined and Body and Crown are each worked in one layer and in their own colour at the same time. It takes two rounds on the needles to complete one round for both layers, as you are using only one yarn colour strand per pass. Beanie has no RS/WS as it is reversible;
in this pattern, RS refers to side showing Yarn B in order to distinguish between layers.

Gauge
48 sts and 70 rounds to measure 10 x 10cm over patt using 3.5mm needles.
24 sts and 35 rounds to measure 10 x 10cm over single layer of double knit patt using 3.5mm needles.
